Whites-only elections protest

In April 1958 the ANC organised a one day strike to protest against the whites-only elections. Chief Luthuli addressed a meeting in Cape Town and appealed for support from the white audience. With him on the platform are (left to right) Annie Silinga (leader of ANC women in the Cape), J. La Guma (President of the Coloured People's Congress), Oscar Mpetha (Food and Canning Workers and ANC), Chief Luthuli and Z. Malindi (W. Cape organiser ANC).
