Torture and death in detentions
Toture and deaths in detention became common place during the 60s. 'Looksmart' Ngudle and Suliman Saloojee were among the first to be murdered. Vuyisile Mini and two other trade unionists, Z. Khayinga and W. Mkaba, were executed in 1964 for complicity in the killing of a police informer, while three others were hanged for the actual killing.
